General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the lupus is auto immune mediated disorder manifesting as various clinical symptoms of systemic or skin manifestations. The acute flare is helped greatly with corticosteroids taking care of renal function and hydration; while the chronic maintenance needs disease modifying agents as monoclonal antibodies or else.

There is no documented facts of direct use of beta blockers in lupus unless specifically indicated. For sleep problem, you may get prescription of Melatonin (3 mg) to be taken at bed time.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
