Is It Safe To Take 20 Mg Lisinopril Instead Of 25 Mg Metoprolol Tartrate?

I take 25 MG Metoprolol Tartrate 2x per day for elevated bp and autonomic neuropathy with tachycardia. I took my last dose this morning, and the pharmacy can not refill until tomorrow. Will it be safe to take 20 MG of Lisinopril that I have on hand ... took that prior to switching to metoprolol (2 months ago).

Hello,

if your blood pressure is not under control then you'd better take it. Otherwise you should continue with metoprolol. Please remember that beta blockers (like metoprolol) may cause a rebound tachycardia if you stop them or miss doses.

Perhaps you should try to find them in another pharmacy (if feasible).
Contact me for any further details you may require.

Kind Regards!
