Is It Safe To Stop Celera Altogether In A Patient With Dementia?
Yes I have my 89 year old mother with me who has been diagnosed with dementia. She had been complaining of shortness of breath in the last few weeks so one Dr suggested ventolin another put her on Celexa . We re not sure if it s shortness of breath due to anxiety or heart etc. In the meantime she has only been on Celexa for one week and it seems to be negatively affecting her in my view quite drastically. Ie going to sleep at 6 instead of usual 9 or 10 not wanting to eat at all, and just over all not herself. I know its a progressive disease but these changes have all occurred in the past week. As well wanting to totally îsolate. Etc She has otherwise älways been healthy and if anything extra sensitive to meds. I want to get her off Celera as I feel this is making things ŵäy worse dō I need tœ wean her off ôr just completely ßtop? Sorry my keyboard îs not working properly
Your mother 89years of age, a case of dementia has shortness of breath , on tab citapram 40 for one week. Here if i have to treat such a patient i will advice , it is too early to see effect of citapram , you must wait for one and half month to see its effect, reduce the dose , 40 is high as for 89years of age, give her staring with just 20 once a day just before sleep say at about 10pm. The symptoms your mother is having are due to dementia itself. After two weeks you can increase to 30 if need arises. For your doubt on the cause of shortness of breathlessness and her age get her ecg done.
