Is It Safe To Have Levomac 500 & K-mac Syrup During Pregnancy?
Hi, I am 27 years old lady. I am 18 weeks pregnant, since the time of conception i suffered from Urinary infection problems and doctor prescribed me with some medicines and i was alright. Now again I am feeling discomfort while pasing urine like burning sensation and frequent urination. My doctor prescribed me with levomac 500 & K-mac syrup. Is it ok to take the medicines as i came to know that levofloxacin should be avoided in pregnancy? What if urinary infection probelm persists, will it cause complications in pregnancy? Moreover I am also taking ecosprin 75 which I was told to take till 32 weeks of pregnancy. I am afraid if aspirin tablets can harm the fetus or cause bleeding problems at later satge? Please help me with this
hi thanks for writing to us Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well controlled studies in humans but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks ofloxacin should be avoided in pregnancy a urine culture can be done and according to antibiotic sensitivity safe drugs can be prescribed aspirin should be stopped 6 weeks before labour ,then bleeding risk is minimal
