Is It Safe To Have Another Angiogram For Shortness Of Breath?

I suffer shortness of breath when I walk briskly for one block. After a nuclear scan a part of my heart was not receiving enough oxygen. My cardiologist went and did an angiogram 2 days ago but was not successful for some reason . In view of this I am now scared to go back to the same doctor. Is it safe for me to not do the procedure until I regain my confidence , a couple of months? Do you think I should go ahead for another angiogram but with a different doctor .

Hi,

In case you have an acute or severe ischemia it is not safe to wait for months.
In there is no increase of serum creatinine level, the angiography can be repeated safely.
Concerning to the point you want to change your doctor, you should decide yourself. It is your right. And it is impossible to advise from the side as I do not know the reason why angiography has failed.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
