Is It Safe To Give Azitharal, Maxtra And Crocin Syrup To A 13 Months Old?
my baby is 13mnths old and she was very restless last night had cried a lot..as such she was suffering from cold since 2 days...i had to rush her to doc yesterday mid night as she was crying a lot...
the doctor near by is not my regular padetric doc...he has suggested me to give Azitharal syp (5 ML- once a day) and Maxtra syp ( 3 ML thrice a day) and also crocin for one day (5 ml - thrice a day) is it safe??
thanks for your query, i would like to assure that it is absolutely safe to give azithromycin(azithral), maxtra(anticold preparation), to your 13 month baby. Crocin should be given only if fever crosses 100 degree fahrenheit, you can give it every 6 hourly if needed. These all are routinely prescribed medicine for cold, fever, only contraindication is any known hypersensitivity to any of these components which is very rare. Azithral is antibiotic used for respiratory tract infection, your doctor must have spotted some infection in the upper respiratory tract thats why he has prescribed it, please take the full course of antibiotic for 3 to 5 days. Wishing you early recovery.
