Is It Safe To Fly After Surgery?

MY 16 YR OLD SON IS FROM CA HE WENT TO NORTH DAKOTA FARGO FOR WRESTLING NATIONALS HE BROKE HIS TIBULA AND FIBULA JUST HAD SURGERY WITH PLATE & SCRWS IN THE FIBULA AND SCREWS IN HIS TIBULA ANKLE AREA . THE COACHES ARE TRYING TO WASH THEIR HANDS OF MY SON NOT AN ASSET NOW BUT A LIABILITY ... HOW THERE AFTER SURGERY IS IT SAFE TO FLY HE HAS TO HAV TO STOPS. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DVT. PLEASE WRITE BACK

Hi, Welcome to HCM. As far as fly is concerned, it is completely safe to fly after surgery. Ithink fly does not increase DVT. To prevent DVT one SHOULD EXCERCISE REGULARLY and remain active. I think this is helpful to you.
