Is It Safe And Effective To Take Cilacar T For High BP?

Recently I was diagnosed with higher bp.It was 170/100.The physician prescribed cilacar t.which I took for 15 days. The bp was in the range of 140-150/70-80 during this period. My age is 72yrs.After 15 days doctor reviewed the case and advised me to take cilacar 10mg.In next five days the bp was in the range of 150-160/77-87.Now doctor has again reverted back to Cilacar T again. Please advise.

You have reading 170/100 at the time of diagnosis. In my experience patients with blood pressure of more than 160/100 usually require two antihypertensive medicines to control elevated blood pressure.Following this principle your doctor rightly started combination of 2 drugs cilnidipine and telmisarts I.e. cilacar t.
One follow up one needs to titrate dose ,so looking to your diastolic BP he might have thought of controlling with only one medication.but in subsequent visit he must have assumed that you will need 2 medicines .
Your BP must remain below 150/80 .
My best wishes.
