I am scheduled for a vaginal hysterectomy at the end of this month. I am concerned because it will be done as an outpatient procedure so that I will only be able to stay in the hospital for 23 hours, unless the doctor has a specific and very good reason (so I am told) for admitting me to the hospital. I have read in several publications that a vaginal hysterectomy requires a hospital stay of 1-2 days. Can you respond please? Thank you.
