General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Elesta 21 is an oral contraceptive. If you are taking it every day at a fixed time. There will be no chance of pregnancy. The spotting you had may be side effect of the pill. Please continue taking it regularly. Progesterone contraceptives like Elesta are known to have menstrual irregularities (frequent, absent, delayed, spotting or profuse). Please don't be stressed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
