General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Implanon is a progesterone containing contraceptive. The pregnancy like symptoms and intermittent spotting is a side effect of the long acting contraceptive. The negative pregnancy test is because the contraceptive is preventive pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
