Is It Possible That I Am Pregnant?

Hello, my last period was on the 1st November and my cycle is usually 24 days. I visited the doctors yesterday for a blood test after no period since, and it has come back boarderline. surely if I were pregnant it would show positive after this length of time? Thanks.

Hello,
I have gone through the query and understood your concern. A pregnancy test should read positive at around the time of a missed period and definitely a week later. The sensitivity of the blood test is very good and positive result is obtained even before the expected period. You can repeat the test and check for increase in the titres. A trans-vaginal sonogram also helps to detect the status of the pelvic organs and to confirm/exclude pregnancy. The ovulation time is shifted early in a shorter cycle like yours, but it remains at two weeks before the onset of the next period. Take care.
