Is It Normal To Have Stiff Neck, Nausea And Mild Headache Post An Accident?

I was in a car accident about two and a half hours ago. I was the passenger and we were rear ended. I believe the other car hit us at about 30mph. The upper part of my neck hurt a bit immediately after the impact. My neck feels alright now, a bit stiff but nothing severe. Right now however, I am experiencing nausea and a slight headache. Is this normal? I m pretty sure I have mild whiplash but do I need to go to the hospital?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the car accident. The slight headache is normal after the accident. If you will have vomiting you should go immediately at the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
