Is It Normal To Have Nosebleeds After Adenoids Surgery?

Is it normal to have nose bleed over a month after adenoids surgery? Ever since my 6 year old had the surgery he has had a runny nose with a lot of mucus. Dr said he had a nasal infection and gave him antibiotics but he still has the runny nose and recently the nose bleed. We to him to the e.r but they literally did nothing.

Hello,

I don't think this nosebleeds and congestion is much related to adenoidectomy.

I think he may be suffering from allergic rhinitis. He may need to take antihistamines such ketotifen and also vitamin C to help heal mucosal lining.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
