Is It Normal To Have Lightheadedness, Headaches And Rapid Heart Beat Due To Hangover?
I recently had a hangover yesterday. It is now a day later and I feel light headed with a rapid heart beat, shortness of breathe and a slight headache. I've been driniking water but nothing seems to help it was doing the same thing yesterday. What could it be??
Hello. Thanks for the query. Depending upon the amount of alcohol consumed, ''Hangover'' symptoms like lightheadedness, jitteriness, trembling hands, nausea, vomiting, rapid heart beat etc. do occur & they usually subside in a day or two. These symptoms usually occur as blood alcohol level starts to drop. Usually hangover can be considered as mildest form of alcohol withdrawal & no specific treatment is necessary. But if it is severe & troublesome; you can consult your doctor for prescription of Lorazepam (Ativan) & vitamine B1 (Thiamine) supplement to help you better cope with same. Good luck
