Is It Normal To Have Blood Stains On The Edges Of Steri-strips?

My son fell and hit his head. He has a wound about an inch long and 1/4 inch wide. I cleaned it, pulled the wound closed and applied steri- strips. The steri- strips are dry and holding, I see a little bit of clear, reddish fluid on the edges of the steri- strips. Should I be concerned, is it ok for the wound to be moist under the steri- strips?

Hello,

Having fluid and blood remain in the wound is normal. You should change the bandages daily and disinfect the wound with iodine.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
