Hi, i ve been getting sore throats and earache a lot I do have problems with sinuses but I cant see the back of my throat because my tongue is big and gets in the way I even have this problem at the dentist is this also a sign to worry about or is it normal to have a big tongue to where you cant see the back of your throat
As per your query, you have symptoms of big tongue known as Macroglossia which could be due to congenital causes and could be acquired and it can leads to symptoms such as sleep apnea, dyspnea, and respiratory symptoms as well.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you gargle warm saline rinses as well as do beta-dine gargles. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizers to prevent present symptoms. Visit oral and maxillofacial surgeon once and get some routine blood investigation done.
Go for proper examination and then start treatment accordingly. Take a combination of antihistamine and an oral antibiotic such as Bactoclav medicine for 3 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
