My wife has been taking Tripride 2 for the last 8 months. She takes 1 after breakfast and 1/2 after dinner. Her fasting and post prandial levels have remained at 180 & 280. Is it advisable to continue ?She is 52 years, height 140 cms and weight 56 kgs
hi thanks for your query. since she has been recently diagnosed diabetes, her blood sugar values take sometime to normalise.her fasting and post prandial values both have been on a higher note.she needs to monitor her diet and do a regular schedule of excercise.her drug dosages need to be altered as well .she can increase her night dose by 1/2 tablet.she need be additionally tested for HB1ac to know the average control her blood sugar over the last 3 - 4 months.if the blood glucose values does not normalise over next 2- 3 weeks,additional drugs like metformin 500mgm should be added to one session of the day.increase fiber intake in your diet.her blood glucose valves have to carefully and periodically monitored over next 2 months.also evaluate other systems ex complete renal profile ,complete eye check,and a n ecg,2d echo or the heart as a part of routine evaluation .consult an expert diabetologist for futher info .thank you.
