Is Hysterectomy Recommended For Severe Abdominal Pain And Heavy Clot During Periods?

I had severe abdominal pain and cramps heavy clot for the past 25 years since puberty i use to take Meftal spas for pain relief after 1st, and 2 rd delivery some days i was okay now my periods are regular but once in 3 months i suffer with pain during periods. Dr Laxmi reddy of appolo suggested for hysterectomy since vagina is bulged but there is no positive in Papsmear or other test or cyst anywhere. Kindly suggest should i go to Hysterectomy sometimes pain is horrible i should be admited for IV

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have gone through your description and understand your concern.
It would be better you go for removal of uterus (hysterectomy) as suggested by your doctor for the following reasons:
1. You are having severe abdominal pain and cramps with passage of clots for almost quite a long time.
2. Bulging in the vagina which has been noticed suggests that there could be a possibility of uterine prolapse which has started, which could cause more problems if not attended to at the earliest.
Hence, kindly follow the advise as suggested.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
