Is High Fever In An Infant Be An Immediate Matter Of Concern?

Hi, thank you so much! My question is this: if a 1 year old baby has 40.3 high fever. How long can we wait till we should consult a doctor firsthand? Meanwhile, we are trying to bring the fever down by giving paracetamol every 4 hours and wiping her with wet cloth to cool down. By the way, the website said this is for free

40.3 Celsius temperature in an 1 year old child is very high , do tepid sponging of whole body and do consult a doctor urgently , because such a higher fever can cause convulsions and permanent damage to brain. So regardless of baby's condition you need to consult your health care provider or emergency.
