Is Having Low Platelet Count With Creatinine Level Of 1.30 A Cause For Concern?

I have type 1 diabetes and went in for blood tests found out I have a low platelet count (119) I have a 1.30 Creatinine so some damage to my kidneys from a pregnancy 18 years ago should I be concerned and what can I do to correct this if there is anything?

Hi,

Your platelets are just borderline low. Similarly serum creatinine levels are borderline high. As your platelets count is just borderline low. Similarly, serum creatinine is borderline high. In this case, if you are asymptomatic, then you need not take any treatment for the time being.

Just observation and follow up by serial testing may be required. Apart from creatinine, other kidney tests should also be taken into consideration. About platelets, many patients have this range, as normal in their blood.
