Is Having Heavy Bleeding After A Prolonged Delay Natural?

Hi I have been on Yaz birth control pill for about 5 years and stopped in September 2015 and in that year October I had my period but after that I did not get a period and now April 2016 I got my period but it is very heavy bleeding. What is the cause of this? Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* Usually stopping of oral contraceptive pills revert back the menses
flow to previous pattern within a period of 1 month or so.

As there is period of 7 months since last dose consumption of OC pills, I don`t think its role in current situation.

Rather rest of the issues as adenomyosis or other imbalance at the uterus level must be sorted out with your OBGY.

Wish you best health and recovery.
Thanks.
