General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I am sorry for the situation your son is in.

1. Viral fever is common among children. Usually, it is not severe and will improve within a few days (up to 10)

2. Antibiotics like azythromycin are not used for viral infection as they are ineffective.
They are used in case of bacterial infection which are commonly associated with virosis (ear infection or tonsillitis as most common )

3. Supportive treatment is required instead as your doctor already prescribed.

Wish fast recovery!
