Is Generic Mobic Advisable Over Celebrex?

I have been on Celebrex for over 2 yrs. it does a wonderful job, but is is quite expensive ($121 for a 90 day supply). I have an appt with my family MD for refil of prescriptions. I m considering asking if I can try generic Mobic. I understand it is an NSAID with an increase risk of GI problems. I also take Lisinopril, HCTZ, ASA 81mg every day, and Ditropan 1mg qod. I ve never had GI problems until I started taking Ditropan. With my doctors approval, I changed my dose to of Ditropan from qd to qod which has greatly reduced the indigestion the qd dose caused. Your opinion re trying Mobic rather than Celebrex?

Hi,

Both mobic and celebrex are non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs. I can tell you one thing that celebrex ( celecoxib) is always a better option especially if you are taking it for arthritis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
