Is Flying Safe After A Colorectal Surgery?

Hi doctors. I had my colon surgery last Aug 15. On Aug 20 they suspected leakage of stool. So immediately i underwent another operation to fix it just in case. Luckily there was no leak and my infection was due to severe pneumonia. I was released from the hospital Aug 28 after being healed from pneumonia. Currently I am in Germany and I plan to fly back home to the Philippines on Sep 26. First connection is about 4 hrs then another 11 hrs. Right now my activities include walking to the park. Is it safe to fly back after 37 days or 5 weeks? Thank you.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can do all the routine activities and it safe to fly also. It is already passed one month and you are perfectly fit for all routine activities except strenuous physical activities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
