Is Feeling Of Skipping Heartbeat Due To Smoking Cannabis Regularly?

so i smoke cannabis regularly on a daily bases like 4 times a day. well I d say about 3 years ago i started to feel like my heart skips beats from time to time. mind you back then i didn t smoke like how i do now. my heart skipping beasts is more frequently now and it scares me because it feels like I m going to have a heartattack, now i know cannabis increased the heart rate and now with my heart acting up more it just scares me...i want to be able to enjoy my medical cannabis without feeling this way...so what should i do?

Hi,

Yes, cannabis increases the heart rate and is also known to cause heart arrythmia. Since you are aware of the abnormality in the rhythm of your heart, I think you should quit cannabis or at least cut down as much as possible. You mention that you were using cannabis medically but the gradual and significant increase in your intake suggests that you might have become dependent on it and use it to "enjoy" or get a high, rather than for medicinal purposes. Please assess whether you really need to use cannabis or not and decide accordingly.
