General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Lexapro contains escitalopram, which is an antidepressant belonging to a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
Since you are young and appears to be apparently healthy, the extra dose of 20mg should not cause any adverse effects.
Kindly be watchful for the following symptoms, which, if appears to seek medical attention immediately.
These include convulsions, dizziness, hypotension, insomnia, nausea and vomiting.
Drink good quantities of fluids so that it would aid the drug to be metabolized effectively and be eliminated from the body efficiently.
Kindly be careful not to take any medication other than what is recommended for you.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
