Is Eating Oxycontin Pills And Smoking Pot Later A Cause For Concern?
Hi there my sister experiments with drugs frequently and she cut two 40 mg oxycontin pills into several pieces and drank and chewed them over in the span of 5 hours and smoked some pot as well. Is that life threatening? Height 6 foot Weight 145 pounds Age 22
The combination with pot is not a concern. Cutting oxycontin up and chewing it can be life threatening. Oxycontin is formulated as a slow release drug which must be swallowed whole. If it is chewed, all the medicine is released into the body at once which can cause an overdose. If this just happened, take her to the emergency room. If it's been a day or 2 and she's okay now, the danger should be past. But tell her never to do that again. And see if she is agreeable to getting treated for her drug addiction. Untreated drug addiction can eventually result in overdose and death. Hope this answers your query.
