Is Dicontinuing Elleste Duet Conti Safe In The Elderly?

I've been taking elleste duet conti 2mg for about 7yr. I moved doctors 1 year ago. I've said I want to stop taking these as it's been a long time. My new doctor can't find it in my records when I started them. She said I've been taking them wrong as I haven't followed the strip and just took any from the pack, I wasn't aware I needed to do this? She said I can just stop taking and see how I go, is this ok ? I'm worried I'm 53

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can safely stop your hormone replacement therapy safely and look for any development of symptoms. Generally, it won’t produce any symptoms or problems while stopping.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
