Is diastolic pressure different from end-diastolic pressure?
Hi, I am a bit confused with some terminology...is diastolic pressure different to end-diastolic pressure? My understanding is that diastolic pressure refers only to the pressure in the aorta during ventricular relaxation whereas end-diastolic pressure refers to the pressure in the ventricles at the end of filling? Is this correct?
My mom s blood pressure is currently 123 over 62. Is it dangerous to have such a large delta between systolic and diastolic? She is also experiencing intense pain on her left side, no tightness in her chest or lightheadedness though. Her father had many strokes and heart attacks before he died.
I recently have been noticing a Low diastolic blood pressure, I am 32? I am a 31 year old male. In excellent shape, 170 lbs 5 11 - I have unexplained hypertention. I have been on 40mgs of accupril for most of 9 years. I recently went to a cardiologist for an annual check up and received a echo and stress test, check for LVH and other cardiac issues. All results were normal. My blood pressure usually reads 125/80 w/ medication but recently I have been seeing lower diastolic pressures 125/65. My doctor added a diuretic to my treatment last year and I have stoped weight lifting which my cardiologist suggested might not be good for a hypertensive. Since then I have been running on average 8- 10 miles a week. Like i said my last cardio echo was perfect,.....could all this cardio and running be lowering my diastolic? If not what could it be if my echo s are clean ?
my mother is getting a reading of 88/42 when she monitors her blood pressure. I know that her diastolic blood pressure is very low and I am looking for a possible explanation. Is this something she should see a doctor about right away? She is under the care of a cardiologist and significantly overweight. She is also experiencing sudden pain and stiffness in her left arm and shoulder. Please help ASAP? A concerned daughter....
