Is Diagnosis Of Mono A Cause For Serious Concern?

I have an employee who was just diognosted with mono. She has mild symtoms and wants to work but I have taken her off the schedule for the next week because the doctor says she should rest. And I am worried about other employees and customers. Is that enough time? She wants to work now and will be losing money. The doctor did not say how long to stay off work. She is a cashier/stocker/fuel attendent.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to hcm,
Infectious mononucleosis also known as kissing disease usually spread through saliva.it can also spread through droplet infection. It's incubation period varies from few days to weeks .The person can shed the virus even when he is asymptomatic, so its difficult to predict how long they should stay away from work.

Thank you
