Is Deriphyllin Syrup Causing Increased Heart Rate Post Attack Of COPD?
my father a stroke patient around 82 years had an recent attack of copd. he has recovered now and is afebrile. he has been advised to take deriphyllin syrup 10ml twice a day on an ongoing bassi i feel his heart rate has escalated since then he weighs aorund 50kgs. shall i modulate the dose to 5ml tiwce a day.

Yes, indeed the deriphyllin syrup can cause increase in heart rate. However COPD itself with many of its complication can be responsible for increase in heart rate.
You must not reduce the dose of drug on your own rather consult your GP or nurse physician for same
