Is Clear Fluid Discharge From The Wound Site A Concern?

I cut my leg earlier this evening and it bled for a little bit but then the blood got lighter and lighter and now is just oozing clear liquid. I do have edema due to Pulmonary Hypertension and I also have renal failure and I am on dialysis. It will not stop oozing either. I m not on any blood thinners only use Heparin during dialysis and load it into my catheters after treatment but that is it.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice

Perhaps the wound has got infected. I suggest you to take an oral antibiotic e.g either Amoxicillin or Cloxacillin, thrice daily for a week. Clean the area with an antiseptic like Savlon or Betadine. In addition I suggest you to apply an OTC topical antibiotic e.g either Neosporin Ointment or Mupirocin 2% ointment, twice daily.

Hope this helps.
