Sorry to hear of his disease. To be very honest chemotherapy has very little to offer in stage four liver cancer. It may cause more harm than benefits. I would have personally not gone for it, I would suggest only palliative care and comfort to him. Chemotherapy may have very severe side effects with little advantage, though the response is definitely different for different people.
