Is Cervical Cerclage Advisable During Second Trimester Of Pregnancy?

Hi Doctor, This is lakshmi. I am carrying 13th week now. Last week i went for scan and my cervix length is 2.9 when 12 weeks 5 days. Doctor suggested my susten 300mg tablet vaginally. And she told me about stitch also. But not sure whether it is required or not. Please tell me that stitch is required?? if required, in which month shall i take stitch. Thanks in advance

You are having a condition called cervical incompetence. Cervical cerclage or stitching is the treatment of choice and it should be done in the second trimester.
