Is Blood Pressure Of 168/126 A Cause For Concern?

My bp is 168/126 and I am having anxiety attack. I aortic valve replaced Feb 22 and was given Motoprol 75 2/ per day. BP contineed to be high so 2 days ago started on Lostartin 100mg once per day but bp still up. Before surgery I was taking atenolol 100 mg and amlodipine 5mg once daily but no Motoprol. My question is can I start the 2 I just mentioned with Motoprol to get bp down or what do you recommend?

Hi,

Yes this BP is high and needs control. However, as metoprolol is same as Atenolol so you should not take both of them.

You should continue with you medicines as advised by your Dr, that is metoprolol and losartan and if BP still remains high, see you doctor either he may change the medicine or increase it.

But do not change medicines by your self. We need to be careful about blood pressure and heart medicine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
