Is Bleeding After Having Sex Concerning?
Hi my name is Linda, I am 65 years old and have not had sex in 10 years. Recently I got with a partner and had sex and there was bleeding a lot and then 2 weeks later had sex again and there was just as much bleeding. I take no medications and have no body issues that I know of - I am very concerned. Can you shed some light on this and what should my next step be?

The most likely cause of the bleeding that occurred could be the dry and atrophied parts consequent to post-menopause, yet, as a precaution, please get properly examined by a specialist, get a pap smear and a sonogram. Use of local lubrication will be useful prior to intercourse. Hormone replacement usually is not advised at your age. Please maintain genital hygiene and good diet.
