Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is tulsi juice safe for my 5 months old baby? He is suffering from cold. And one more question :- What type of food I should give to my baby when he starts eating salt I.e. after he completes 6months. Currently he only have my milk n 90ml of lactogen once a day.
As per my clinical experience, the use of basil juice is best recommended in an infant of 5 months age, as per the weight criteria the dosage should not exceed which may lead to diarrhea as well. The basil juice helps in digestion of stomach contents, control of cholesterol as well.
Additional offerings over breast milk of mother, possible for the infant would be: - Juices of green leafy vegetables - Crushed pulp of organic fresh fruits as oranges, grapes , water melon providing fiber and water content - Rice water (carbohydrate supplement) - Dal water (protein supplement)
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
