Is Anesthesia Safe While On Methylprednisolone And Amoxicillin/Clavulanate?

I m having hammer toe surgery in 5 days. Doctor said I would be under anesthesia for about an hour. I ve just been prescribed 21 Methylprednisolone 4mg tabs and amoxicillin/clavulanate tablets (875 mg) for sinusitis. I do not know who my anesthesiologist is yet....should I be concerned about these meds delaying my surgery date?

Hello,

Most likely the surgery on toe will be done under local anesthesia or spinal anesthesia. In that case Methylprednisolone 4 mg won't have any adverse effect.Amoxicillin/clavulanate is a broad spectrum antibiotic. It may be given pre-operative otherwise for antibiotic cover.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
