Is An Itchy Eye, With Blurred Vision And Dilated Pupil Anything Serious?

My eye was itching earlier, then 4-5 hours later there was a small white discharge, I wiped it away then instantly my eye started to burn, I tried to wash my eye with contact lens solution but it burned more, my eye had started to water, about an hour later I noticed foggy vision and the pupil was slightly larger. Should I be seen or try cold compress or another home remedy? I haven t worn my contacts for a week so that is not my problem.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
From the symptoms you are describing, it appears that you could be having infection of the eyes called 'conjunctivitis'.
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Apply Ofloxacin Eye drops every 4th hourly.
2. Apply Fluorbiprofen Eye drops thrice daily.
3. Apply Artificial tear drops onve in the morning and again at bedtime.
Your symptoms should subside by 12 to 24 hours by following the above measures.
In case it doesn't, you need to get evaluated and managed by consulting Eye specialist.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
