Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is An Immediate Doctor Consultation Advisable For Elevated Blood Pressure Level?
I am a Type II diabetic. My Hgb A1C the last 2 checks were 7.1...before I was about 6-6.5. I am spilling protein in my urine ... my results were over 400 and my urine creatinine was high as well, noted in May. My Triglycerides are generally about 189...cholesterol ok. I have been experiencing urine on occasion that is a dark, red to brown color. I do have pain in my left back intermittently. My blood pressure runs 156/90. I am in transition between doctors and after many months of trying to get in after that last May appointment, my next appointment is Nov 14th. Should I try to get in sooner?
Hi welcome to ask a doctor service. i have read your question and here is my advice. High BP is most of the times not an emergency , until it is very high like over 2 hundred or if there are confusion with or dimness of vision with it.(in such cases you should go to the ER) In your case the BP is not very high, however it probably needs treatment but that does not need to be on emergency basis. At the moment i would advise you should reduce salt intake, encourage exercise , and more importantly keep record of your bp ,like you can check it twice daily ,and then show it to the doctor. You may not need to see him earlier .
Hopes i have answered your question. I would be glad to answer any thing else you want to know in this regards. Kind Regards Dr Rahamn
