Is An Eucalyptus Steam Infusion Effective For Blocked Nose In An Infant?
Thank you for looking at my question. I have a family staying with me. Their newborn baby boy is a little snuffly but otherwise well and healthy, 3 weeks old now and while full-term [caesarian] he is not a large bub, breastfeeding with frequency and success as suitable for his age. His nasal opening is quite small. adults all have the dreaded winter throat and new mum thinks baby is also suffering from the bug but I ve told her he s not otherwise unwell and is most likely still sneezing out his pre-birth fluids and mucuses . Is a low dilution of Vicks and/or eucalyptus steam infusion in the bedroom or sitting room for the purpose of helping the adults compatible with good care for the baby?
Do not use stream directly on the baby. It might cause skin irritation and other problems. You can try saline nasal drops to prevent congestion. If symptoms persist better to consult a pediatrician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
