Is Alcohol Advisable While On Gabapentin?

I have just begun taking Gabapentin, 100 mg caps. One cap for ten days, two caps for ten days, then three caps for ten days. Then see my doctor. Perhaps stay on three caps a day from then on. This is for seizure control and peripheral neuropathy. My question: I enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. Is this okay?

Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic!
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.
Alcohol can increase the side effects of alcohol. Nervous system side effects of gabapentin such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating are high when consumed along with alcohol. However a glass of wine does not have much consequences.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks
