General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern. IBS symptoms are really bothersome. However, most of the time they will settle on their own.

The most important thing is to avoid foods/drinks that will aggravate the symptoms.

Have small meals, but more often than normal.
Take lactulose and/or fiber supplement to ease the bowel movement (psyllium or prune fiber).

Keep following up with gastroenterologist if symptoms will persist or aggravate. Colonoscopy and upper endoscopy might be required together with stool culture for candida.

All the best.
