Is A Red Sore On The Foot Related To Shingles?

I have had a severe case of the shingles. Am in the final stages. Have developed a sore on the outside of bone of my foot. It is red and brown, has a crust over it and the tissues around the area are swollen and red as well. Am 83 years old, have mylo displastic syndrome and myco backterium avian. (excuse spelling) so my auto immune system is challenged. Am waiting for the results of an xray of my foot. I have a history of cancer which has raised concerns. My question is---is this sore related to the shingles.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Shingles generally does not appear on foot. And it does come as a single lesion. So I don’t think it is shingles. It would be better if you send a picture along with the follow up query.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
