Is A Painful And Purple Spot In The Penis A Matter Of Concern?

Noticed a purple spot inside opening of penis. Currently receiving treatment for UTI with Doxycycline 100mg. Have experienced strong pain sitting down and burning through urethra (regardless of urinating or not). Currently on day 4 of antibiotics, symptoms have lessened but still painful to sit and unsure if purple spot inside penis opening is of any concern. Urine test revealed no STI or other condition except urinary infection.

Sexologist 's  Response
Hi,

It can be due to vasculitis - doing a Doppler/ ultrasound can help diagnosing cause. If issue should be solved by taking appropriate antibiotics if its urinary tract infection.

I hope I have answered your query. If you have further doubts, I would be happy to help you.

Regards,
Dr. S. R. Raveendran, Sexologist
