MY LIVER COUNTS ARE FOR 0-40 IS 78 AND THE OTHER FOR 0-32 IS 65 SHOULD I BE WORRIED? I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH A BATERIAL INFECTION FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND HAVE TAKEN SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF ANTIBIOTICS. I ALSO HAD A BONE INFECTION IN ELBOWJUNE 2016 THRU JULY 2017 AND WAS TOLD IT HAD CLEARED UP AND I ALSO TAKE SEVERALMEDICATIONS. SHOULD I BE WORRIED? BECAUSE MY DOCTOR WANTS ME TO HAVE A LIVER CAT SCAN.

Welcome to ' Ask a doctor ' service .
I have reviewed your query and here is my suggestion .
As you are having bactierial infections and bone infections and taking various antibiotics , the liver enzymes are bound to increase .
Once the infections are cleared up , the liver enzymes will come down gradually .
At present , concentrate on controlling infections .
Liver enzymes more than three times upper limit cause concern .
You may take liver tonic as Tab LIV 52 a himalaya drug company trade .
Otherwise , you may take liver scan and it is not an issue .
But i donot think that scan is necessary now .
For effective antibiotic , rely on culture and antibiotics sensitivity test .
I hope I have solved your query .
Let me know if I can assist you further in this query .
