Is A Tetanus Shot Advisable After Alcohol Intake?

My friend drank heavily last night. While returning home he met with an accident and got bruises on his hands, shoulder and under his eye. He was then given a tetanus shot. Is it safe to be given a vaccine while you re under the influence of alcohol ? Is there any cause for worry ? What must be done to ease his pain ?

hi first of all i appreciate your concern for your friend.there is no contraindication of tetanus toxoid in alcoholics.in fact there is no association between the two.its good to have the vaccine.if the pain is severe he can take aceclofenac tablet or else tab paracetamol 650 mg is enough. if there is swelling he can use tab chymerol forte which contains serratiopeptidase.
