Is Tamiflu Safe For The Treatment For Fever And Flu?
Hi, My friend, a 41year old woman developed flu symptoms on Thursday. She s had a 102 degree temp for two days . She had her flu shot on Wed., the day before she developed symptoms. She s afraid to take Tamiflu after looking up the side effects. I m a retired RN and want to encourage her to take the Rx, but don t know what to tell her. She has a husband and 2 small children and we don t want something to happen to her.

Tamiflu prescribed only if flu strongly suspected and there is epidemic of it in particular area.
For further investigation if needed throat swab can be taken for culture.
Tamiflu can be taken if prescribed by doctor.
It can lead severe gastritis for which prophylactic rabeprazole 20 mg also should be started
If vomiting present than ondensteron can be prescribed
