Is TSH Level Of 8.5 A Cause For Concern?

Sir, i am 45 years old , my tsh level is 8.5 but t3,t4,ft3,ft4 all are normal in range. I am over weight, facing hair loss, and rapid heart rate sometimes above 100 per minutes. Total cholesterol is 200, LDL 127, and hdl 51,Please advice what should I do? Thanking you, P Nayek

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Even if T3, T4 are normal, the elevated TSH is of concern as it is most sensitive out of all three. I advise you to get your thyroid profile repeated and if it again comes elevated then start thyroxine drugs.
